July 1, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Exhibited Mixed Trend on the Index

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF held steady from the previous day.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices witnessed a jump on ScrapMonster Price Index as of Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices were also up from the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices recorded decline when matched with the prior day’s prices. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were up by CNY 700 per MT.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing price saw a jump of CNY 700 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 700 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were up by CNY 350 per MT over the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery witnessed a marginal increase of CNY 100 per MT when compared with the day before.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices edged higher by CNY 50 per each on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiators and Heater Cores prices increased by CNY 100 per MT and CNY 350 per MT respectively on the Index.
The price of Harness Wire 35% Recovery witnessed a jump of CNY 50 per MT on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Meanwhile, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices edged higher by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions recorded an increase of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were up by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers saw no change from the previous day’s prices.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also recorded an increase of CNY 50 per MT on July 1, 2025.
The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF held steady from the previous day.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices were flat on July 1, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also were unchanged on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices decreased by CNY 50 per MT when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices were down by CNY 100 per MT as of July 1, 2025.
Shred SS prices witnessed no change over the previous day.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded increase from the previous day.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were up by CNY 50 per MT as of Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices increased by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.
