February 21, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Recorded Mixed Trend on the Index

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, February 21, 2025. Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. In contrast, Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher on the Index. Meanwhile, Aluminum and Steel scrap prices held steady.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices dipped by CNY 600 per MT over the previous day.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing too saw price decline of CNY 600 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also decreased by CNY 600 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices recorded a decline of CNY 300 per MT on the Index. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were down by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer scrap prices held steady over the prior day’s prices.
Cu Yokes prices inched lower by CNY 50 per MT.
Cu/Al Radiator prices went down by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT as of Friday, February 21, 2025.
Heater Cores prices witnessed a decline of CNY 200 per MT.
In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions witnessed no change in prices over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were flat on the Index.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers recorded no variation on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices held steady.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also witnessed no change as of February 21, 2025.
The prices UBC and Zorba 90% INF remained flat when compared with the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of Friday, February 21, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices also witnessed no change over the previous day.
The price of 304 SS Turning held steady when compared with the previous day’s price.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices witnessed a jump of CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day’s price.
310 SS scrap prices edged higher by CNY 100 per MT as of February 21, 2025.
Shred SS prices reported no variation on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator scrap prices dropped by CNY 50 per MT as of February 21, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were down by CNY 100 per MT each when matched with the previous day’s prices.
