4th December, 2020: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices continued to remain buoyant on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on December 4^th, Friday. Aluminum, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too surged higher on Index. Meantime, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained flat on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.02 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.02 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.02 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery remained flat over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too were unchanged on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator, Copper Transformer scrap and Cu Yokes were unchanged on Index.  Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices witnessed no change from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe edged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on December 4^th, 2020.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices held steady over the day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters and Sealed units remained unchanged on Index.

Xmas Lights prices saw no change from previous day.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices were up marginally by $0.01 per Lb. The prices of 3003 Scrap too edged higher by $0.01 per Lb. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too saw slight increase by $0.01 per Lb each.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions witnessed no change.

5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions  too remained unchanged on Index.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe were up by $0.02 per Lb each.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe remained unchanged on Index.

Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices held steady on 4^th December, 2020.

Chrome Wheels saw marginal increase in prices by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding and Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices were flat on Index.

MLC Clips and Old Cast were up by $0.01 per Lb from previous day’s levels.

The prices of Old Sheet saw modest increase of $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices were up by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively from the previous day.

 Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat on Index.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 4^th December, 2020.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady when compared with the previous day.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.

304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices on December 4^th, 2020.

309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were flat from the prior day.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on Index.

 Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator prices surged higher by $0.01 per Lb each on December 4^th, 2020.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices remained unchanged over the day.

Red Brass, Rod Borings and Yellow Brass prices increased by $0.01 per Lb each on Index.
