U.S. softwood lumber wholesale prices reach highest level in nearly three years

Final-demand producer prices fell 0.3% month over month. The benchmark was up 5.5% year over year, leaving softwood lumber's up 6.2% annual gain 0.7 percentage points higher.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Softwood lumber prices were up 6.2% year over year, while final-demand producer prices were up 5.5% from a year earlier.

U.S. softwood lumber wholesale prices rose 2.2% from May and remained up 6.2% year over year, after edging down 0.1% the prior month, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.

That is the highest level since July 2023.

Hardwood lumber producer prices were unchanged month over month and were up 3.5% year over year, while plywood producer prices rose 0.6% month over month and were up 8.2% year over year.

Final-demand producer prices fell 0.3% month over month. The benchmark was up 5.5% year over year, leaving softwood lumber's up 6.2% annual gain 0.7 percentage points higher.
