SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Softwood Lumber Board (SLB) has announced appointment of new board of directors. It announced appointment of Eric Cremers, Caroline Dauzat, and Hugues Simon to serve second term in office. Also, Keith O’Rear has been appointed for his first term. The new directors will serve for a period of three years beginning January 1, 2021.
Mr.Cremers, being the President & CEO of PotlatchDeltic, the ninth largest lumber producer in the U.S., brings added perspective of a timberland owner. His prior experience in consumer products industry makes him a valuable resource to the communications and marketing campaigns undertaken by the SLB.
Ms. Dauzat, owner and manager of Rex Lumber, has been an active member of the Southeast Lumber Manufacturers Association since 1998 and a board member from 2013 to 2016. Mr. Hugues Simon, with 26 years of experience in the forest sector, will represent smaller lumber producers and importers, particularly in Eastern Canada. Mr. O’Rear, with 30 years of experience in the lumber industry, also serves as board member of the American Wood Council, the Wood Product Council – WoodWorks, and Southern Pine Inspection Bureau.
The strong slate of new members reflects the diversity of the industry, noted Cees de Jager, President and CEO, SLB.
