Langworthy Announces $800K Grant for Cattaraugus Lumber Company

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Congressman Nick Langworthy announced Tuesday that Fitzpatrick and Weller, Inc. has received an $800,085 grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to upgrade emissions systems at two of its manufacturing sites in Cattaraugus County.

The funding will be used to install advanced wood energy emissions control systems, helping the company meet state environmental compliance standards while preserving local jobs and supporting sustainable forest management.

“The hardwood and lumber industry are a backbone of our local economy, and I’m proud to have helped secure this federal grant,” Langworthy said. “I will always stand with our manufacturers to strengthen our domestic supply chain.”

Fitzpatrick and Weller President Greg Fitzpatrick praised Langworthy for backing the project. “This grant is essential to our business and will allow us to invest in the necessary equipment to stay up to standard while continuing to operate, grow, and offer a truly American product from the forests of Cattaraugus County,” he said.

The investment aims to sustain rural job retention and promote environmentally responsible practices across the region.
