SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Hampton Lumber, based in Portland, Oregon, revealed intentions to construct a brand-new, cutting-edge sawmill operation in Allendale County, South Carolina. On the East Coast, this will be the company's first new sawmill.
It is anticipated that the new plant would increase the company's footprint in the United States and help it achieve its long-term goal of becoming the go-to supplier of wood solutions in North America. Southern Yellow Pine frame lumber of superior grade will be produced by the sawmill. It is anticipated that the mill's construction will start later this year, and operations will start in early 2027. It is anticipated that the plant will create between 125 and 140 new employment in the area when it is fully operational.
