HYDERABAD, INDIA (Scrap Monster): Segregation, Conversion and Recycling Awareness Project (SCRAP) is a developing nonprofit organisation that works towards building a greener future. They attempt at instilling a sense of responsibility towards the environment and their future among people.
Their newest event is an effort to create awareness about the importance of energy conservation. Called ‘Lights Out’, the event which is scheduled for January 30, is a one hour lights out initiative. Citizens are requested to switch off all non-essential lights in an effort to help bring about an awareness and change in energy consumption. From 8 to 9 pm on Monday, SCRAP requests everyone to ‘hang in the dark’.

Based on the principle of synergy, SCRAP hopes to solve problems bigger than any of us alone by bringing everybody together.
