Recovered Paper Demand to Witness Considerable Rise Over the Next Decade

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The research report published by Future Market Insights states that recovered paper is expected to witness considerable jump in demand over the next ten years, mainly on account of rising demand for recycled packaging alternatives.

According to the report, the increased preference for online shopping by customers has led to increasing demand for packaging products. The recovered paper market growth is mainly driven by the increased acceptance of corrugated containers and boxes for packaging products that needs to be shipped to distant locations. Europe and the North American region enjoys high recovery rate of paper, which are consequently exported to developing regions such as the Asia Pacific and the Middle East & Africa.

China has been the leading consumer of recovered paper in the Asia Pacific region. However, the new import restrictions imposed by the country’s administration has led to significant fall in import volumes. As a result, the traditional exporters of recovered paper to China including Japan, Europe and the U.S. are faced with huge inventory of the material that needs to be consumed. The excess supply situation has led to significant fall in prices of recovered paper. The exports of high quality recovered paper are believed to have reached a saturation point, said industry participants.

The Future Market Insights report identifies Smurfit Kappa Group plc. International Paper, American Eagle Paper Mills, Stora Enso, Mondi Group Plc. As some of the key players of global recovered paper market.
