Pratt Industries Declares Major Investment in New Virginia Plant

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Conyers, Georgia-based Pratt Industries has announced investment of $20 million in opening a new manufacturing plant in the state of Virginia. The company’s second Virginia manufacturing operation will be based in Botetourt County Shell Building. The proposed investment is expected to help the company expand its footprints in the commonwealth. The new plant is expected to create 50 new well-paid jobs in the region. The announcement to this effect was made yesterday by the Office of the Virginia Governor Ralph Northam.

Gov. Northam stated that the state is extremely proud to partner with a global manufacturer like Pratt Industries. The major investment will have strong positive impact on the regional economy, he said. Further, it will make significant contributions to advancement of Virginia’s thriving manufacturing industry, he added.

Brian Ball, Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade expressed thrill in Pratt Industries establishing its second Virginia manufacturing facility. Meantime, David Dennis, Pratt’s chief operating officer noted that the company is excited to expand in Virginia. He thanked the Roanoke Regional Partnership, Botetourt County and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership for their steadfast support.

Pratt is America's 5th largest corrugated packaging company and the world's largest, privately-held 100% recycled paper and packaging company. It employs approximately 7,000 people world-wide.
