PolyCycl Revealed Innovative Single-Use Plastics Recycling Technology

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  PolyCycl, a well-known startup, revealed a cutting-edge chemical recycling pyrolysis process for recycling single-use plastics. By recycling common plastics like single-use bags and food-contaminated packaging, the technique seeks to address India's growing plastic waste crisis.

The patented Contiflow Cracker Generation VI technology combines its proprietary PyOilClean refining technology with a continuous thermo-chemical pyrolysis process. Low-quality polymers are converted into liquid hydrocarbon fuels by it. After that, these oils undergo purification to get rid of impurities like heteroatoms and halogens. Useful low-carbon materials will be produced using the resulting chemical feedstock.

According to PolyCycl's founder and CEO, Amit Tandon, the new technology disassembles thin plastics into their molecular components. It removes the need for landfilling or incineration by enabling the continual recycling of regularly used plastics without compromising their quality. Scalable development of the technology into a closed-loop recycling system is made possible by the continuous process architecture.

Approximately 10 million tonnes of plastic garbage are produced annually in India, with single-use plastics making up nearly 40% of this total.
