Poland’s Katarzynki to launch furniture parts plant

Polish plastic parts manufacturer Katarzynki Akcesoria Meblowe is planning to set up a new plant in Ostaszewo, in Poland’s northern Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, reported local news site Plastech.pl.

Polish plastic parts manufacturer Katarzynki Akcesoria Meblowe is planning to set up a new plant in Ostaszewo, in Poland’s northern Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, reported local news site Plastech.pl.

The acquired facility is located in the Pomorska special economic zone (PSSE), and was previously operated by Japanese electronics manufacturer Sumika. Located on a 196,000 square metre site, the facility has a production space of 25,000 square metres.

“By the end of 2016, we plan to spend at least 20m zloty [€4.8m], and by the end of 2018 a further 10m zloty [€2.4m],” said Halina BÅ‚ażejewicz, chief executive of Katarzynki.

The Polish injection moulder supplies a wide range of plastic components to local furniture manufacturers.

Under the plan, the Polish firm will take on 40 workers by the end of 2015, and the facility is designed to have a total workforce of 150, according to Błażejewicz.

The company’s production facility in WÄ…brzeźno, Poland, is fitted with 24 machines supplied by Arburg, Engel and Dr Boy with a clamping force of between 50 and 500 tonnes.
