Pinnacle Commenced Pellet Production at Alberta Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pinnacle Renewable Energy announced that it has started wood pellet production at its newly constructed High Level, Alberta facility. The finished pellets from the facility will be barged and loaded at the Port of Mobile, Alberta to meet long-term supply contracts. The mill has a projected run-rate capacity of 200,000 metric tons per year.

According to company new release, the commissioning of the pellet plant coupled with its Demopolis, Alabama project will boost the company’s overall production capacity by almost one-fourth to nearly 2.8 million metric tons per year. Incidentally, the Demopolis project is expected to be completed in Q2 next year.

The pellet production facility is equally owned by Pinnacle and Tolko Industries. It uses high-quality wood fibre sourced mainly from Tolko’s High Level sawmill.
