BUENOS AIRES (Scrap Monster) : According to data released by the Argentine National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), there has been a considerable decline in petrochemicals production by Argentina during the month of July this year. The production of synthetic polymer and rubber in July saw a huge decline month-on-month and year-on-year.
As per INDEC data, the country’s output of polymer and synthetic rubber fell by 15.3% in July when compared with the output during same month the previous year. The production fell by 23.3% over the previous month. The output during the initial seven months of the year has slipped by 3.6% when compared with the output during corresponding period a year before.
Meantime, the total production of plastic goods by compounders rose 5.4% in July when compared with the production during July 2012. The plastic goods output by the country in July have improved by 0.6% over the previous month. The plastic goods demand is generally considered as a clear indicator of polymer demand.
Also, the total production of tires went higher by 5.2% in July upon comparison with the production during July 2012. The tire production by the country in July has improved by 13.5% over the previous month. The tire production is a clear indicator of synthetic rubber demand.
