SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The recent survey commissioned by Stora Enso indicates expected recovery for office printing paper, as workers return to office. It must be noted that the work-from-home culture that prevailed during the pandemic times had resulted in notable dip in demand for printing paper.
The survey carried out among nearly 3,400 people from across Sweden, UK, France, Netherlands, and Germany signalled that 35% of the respondents have already returned to office for work, whereas another 51% are expected to return soon. The survey results bring good news for the paper industry, especially with reference to printing behaviour and preferences of workers, said Jonathan Bakewell, Vice President and Head of Segment Office and Book Papers, Stora Enso.
The survey participants noted that they print 32% more at the office than at home. Also, 70% expressed willingness to pay a premium for paper with higher sustainability qualities. The print quality of the paper has emerged as the primary concern for majority of respondents. Although cost and convenience continue to be the topmost concerns, sustainability has become a key concern than it was a year before, the survey said.
