NORPAC plans to recycle over 400,000 metric tons of recovered waste paper per year into 100% recycled packaging grade papers.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): North Pacific Paper Company (NORPAC) announced its decision to expand its Longview operations. The expansion project will help the company to transform waste paper into 100% recycled papers, which will be used for making boxes, displays, bags and a number of other packaging products. The project will save tons of paper ending up at landfills and protect nearly 400 jobs at the mill.
Craig Anneberg, CEO, NORPAC stated that increasing its ability to produce 100% recycled packaging papers will help the company to effectively deal with the environmental challenge posed by waste papers, as a result of China’s stringent import restrictions. The company plans to convert one third of its production to packaging grades, which will serve local and export markets.
NORPAC plans to recycle over 400,000 metric tons of recovered waste paper per year into 100% recycled packaging grade papers, Anneberg said. It will be capable to process the equivalent of all available waste and mixed paper grades recovered in the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho, he added.
