SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): CorrVentures LLC disclosed details on its 100% recycled paperboard mill near Albany, New York.
In accordance with company website, the recycled containerboard mill project will henceforth be referred to as Hudson Valley Paperboard (HVP). The budget of the project is estimated at around $315 million. The financial closing of the mill is scheduled for Q1 next year. The mill is expected to start commercial production by the initial quarter of 2022. The construction phase of the plant will generate more than 200 temporary jobs, in addition to hundreds of supporting jobs. Upon full operation, the mill will offer permanent job opportunities for more than 100 people.

The mill will process nearly 330,000 tons of mixed paper and Old Corrugated Containers (OCCs) per annum, which will be mainly sourced from surrounding regions. This will result in significant reduction of carbon footprint in the region. Using this feedstock, the mill will produce approximately 300,000 tons per year of high-strength lighter weight recycled containerboard.
The mill will be built by a globally recognized firm and will feature highly efficient latest equipment that guarantees environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. Further, it will incorporate state-of-the-art technologies to limit air emissions. Also, CorrVentures has plans to install an on-site wastewater pre-treatment plant and an on-site co-generation power facility.
