Nucor Launched Net-Zero Range of Steel Products

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Nucor Corporation announced the launch of a new range of net-zero carbon steel products. By purchasing Econiq range of products, consumers are assured that they have bought the lowest green house gas emissions steel product currently available in the market.

The Econiq range of steel products will be available across the company’s steelmaking product lines in the U.S., although it will be available in limited quantities initially. It will utilize 100% renewable electricity and high-quality carbon offsets to completely eliminate Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Furthermore, it guarantees emissions-free steel products to help steel consumers meet their sustainability goals.

Leon Topalian, President and CEO, Nucor Corporation said that the addition of Econiq is just a logical extension to its innovation legacy in the steel industry. The company has been a major promoter of the sustainable model that uses recycled steel to produce new steel and steel products for more than 50 years now, he added.
