Nigeria Launches N7bn Integrated Waste Recycling Project

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  The Nigerian State of Ondo has partnered with ZL Global Alliance (Nigeria) Limited (ZLGA) to set up modern integrated waste management project in the state capital of Akure. The official launch of the N7bn project was held 21st February, 2018, which was attended by Governor, top officials from the company and other distinguished guests. The project is expected to generate huge employment and revenue opportunities to the Nigerian state.

While inaugurating the project, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu extended full support to the project, which is expected to turn waste into wealth. He noted that the integrated waste management project could create huge employment opportunities for youth. In addition, it will also create significant revenue for the government. The Akure recycling facility is expected to contribute approximately N60 million in revenues to the state government. Also, the state government will be provided with nearly one-fifth of the total resources generated by the facility, which in turn will generate additional revenues.

She requested the co-operation of all residents in their efforts to make their environment clean through proper collection and disposal of waste.

The launch of the facility coincides with the completion of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s first year in office. Akeredolu has been favoring direct foreign investments in the state to improve the lives and wellbeing of its people.
