BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Silvercorp Metals Inc. (TSX, NYSE: SVM) intersected high grades of silver, lead and zinc at its SGX Mine in the Ying Mining District, Henan Province, China.

Highlights include 445.0 grams per ton silver, 11.56% lead and 2.80% zinc over 9.22 meters, including 1,476 g/t silver, 39.12% lead and 9.31% zinc over 1.57 meters, the company says. Other high-grade results returned 646.0 g/t silver, 4.34% lead and 1.32% zinc over 10.03 meters, including 2,056 g/t silver, 0.88% lead and 1.98% zinc over 1.42 meters as well as 2,497 g/t silver, 30.58% lead and 4.58% zinc over 1.32 meters, said the company.

Since the company last reported drilling results Aug. 1, 5,966 meters of drilling in 33 drill holes have been completed for S7-1 using eight drill rigs, and assay results for 14 of the 20 holes intercepted significant high-grade silver-lead-zinc mineralization with the results for the remaining holes pending, Silvercorp concluded.

Silvercorp is a Canadian-based focused on its projects in China.
