Lundin Mining Reaffirms 2026 Production Outlook Despite Chile Winter Disruptions

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Lundin Mining has confirmed that it remains on track to achieve its 2026 production targets despite severe winter storms disrupting operations at its Chilean mining sites.
The company said it implemented precautionary measures before the extreme weather hit northern and central Chile's Atacama Region. It must be noted that heavy rainfall, flooding, and snowfall affected its Candelaria and Caserones mining complexes.

At Candelaria, mining activities were disrupted by intense rainfall, although the processing plant has continued operating using existing ore stockpiles. Meanwhile, operations at Caserones have been suspended since July 18 after heavy snowfall blocked site access and caused a power outage.
Lundin Mining said employee safety, environmental protection, and support for nearby communities remain its highest priorities. The company has been working closely with local authorities and emergency responders. According to the company, weather-related disruptions are already factored into its annual operating plans and therefore it continues to maintain its full-year production guidance.
Lundin Mining will release its full second-quarter financial and operational results after market close on August 5, 2026.
