SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Lundin Gold Inc. reported gold production of 118,994 ounces during the second quarter of 2026 from its Fruta del Norte mine in southeast Ecuador. This is significantly lower by nearly 15% from the 139,433 ounces produced in the corresponding quarter last year.

During the quarter, the processing plant treated 500,143 tonnes of ore, up from 460,820 tonnes a year earlier. Average mill throughput increased to 5,496 tonnes per day, while the average ore grade declined to 8.3 grams per tonne from 10.4 grams per tonne in the second quarter of 2025. Gold recovery also declined to 89.1%, compared with 90.9% a year earlier.

Lundin Gold sold 110,385 ounces of gold during the quarter at an average realized price of US$4,359 per ounce.

For the first half of 2026, the company produced 238,736 ounces of gold. This compares with 256,746 ounces produced during the same period in 2025.

President and CEO Jamie Beck said the second quarter production was impacted due to nine days of planned plant maintenance. However, the company reported increased throughput and ore grades during June, thus resulting in a stronger finish to the quarter.
