HMS 80/20 prices were down by $25 per MT on the Index.

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices recorded mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Thursday, May 15, 2025. Stainless Steel scrap prices recorded no variation. Brass/Bronze scrap prices witnessed jump on the Index. Copper scrap prices registered a marginal increase, whereas Aluminum and Steel scrap prices inched lower on the Index.
Alternator prices held steady on the Index.
The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by $0.06 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.06 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged higher by $ 0.06 per Lb.
The #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices witnessed a jump of $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were up by $0.02 per Lb on the Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices increased by $0.06 per Lb.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap were up by $0.03 per Lb on the Index.
Copper Transformer Scrap remained unchanged.
Cu Yokes prices reported an increase of $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe remained stable as of May 15, 2025.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores and Romex Wire prices increased by $0.02 per Lb each over the day.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights reported no change from the previous day's price levels.
1100 Scrap prices edged lower by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap also were down by $0.01 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also decreased by $0.01 per Lb each.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions went lower by $0.01 per Lb over the day.
Meanwhile, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions/Fe recorded a decline of $0.01 per Lb when compared with the prior day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained unchanged over the day. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged as of Thursday, May 15, 2025.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices witnessed a dip of $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, and MLC Clips edged lower by $0.01 per Lb from the previous day’s price levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices also were down by $0.01 per Lb.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC reported a marginal fall of $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding, and Zorba 90% NF prices also registered decline by $0.01 per Lb.
#1 Bundle prices recorded a decline of $20 per MT.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS reported decline by $20 per MT and $25 per MT respectively as of May 15, 2025.
HMS 80/20 prices were down by $25 per MT on the Index.
Sheet Metal and Structural Steel also saw their prices drop by $20 per MT and $25 per MT respectively when compared with the previous day.
Shredded Auto Scrap prices were down by $40 per MT on the Index.
201 SS and 301 SS prices recorded no variation on the Index.
304 SS Solid prices were unchanged over the previous day.
304 SS Turning witnessed no change as of Thursday, May 15, 2025.
309 SS and 310 SS prices held steady from the previous day.
330 SS prices were flat from the prior day.
In the meantime, 316 SS Solid prices also recorded no change on the Index.
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region witnessed increase on the Index.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap, and Brass Radiator scrap prices were up by $0.02 per Lb as of Thursday, May 15, 2025.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day's price levels.
Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
