SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the past one-week period (May 16 to May 22, 2025) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
The regional aluminum scrap prices mostly remained unchanged over the prior week. Only E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded decline.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices witnessed a marginal decline of 1.79%. The prices of the commodity dropped from $1.12 per Lb at the start of the week to $1.10 per Lb by the end of the week.
The graph provided below depicts the weekly price movement in E.C. Aluminum Wire:

6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, and 3003 Scrap prices witnessed no change from the prior week.
There was no variation in prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Radiators/Fe.
Also, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels and Mixed Aluminum Turnings held steady on the Index during the week ended May 22, 2025.
No change in price was seen in MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF.
The regional scrap aluminum prices recorded no variation in prices, except for E.C. Aluminum Wire.
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded a decline from $1.12 per Lb to close the week at $1.10 per Lb. The commodity’s prices registered week-on-week decline by 1.79%.
The prices of all other scrap aluminum commodities in the region held steady.
Only E.C. Aluminum Wire in the region witnessed decline in prices during the week ended May 22, 2025.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices were down marginally by 1.79% during the course of the week. The prices of the commodity fell from $1.12 to $1.10 per pound.
The prices of all other commodities were flat on the Index.
The scrap commodities that remained constant during the week included 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF.

The scrap aluminum prices in the region recorded no variation in prices, except for E.C. Aluminum Wire.
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded a decline from $1.12 per Lb to close the week at $1.10 per Lb. The commodity’s prices registered week-on-week decline by 1.79%.
The prices of all other scrap aluminum commodities in the region held steady.

The aluminum scrap commodities in the region reported jump in prices during the week ending May 22 2025.
6063 Extrusions, Old Cast and Old Sheet prices increased the most, with prices of all of them rising by 0.56%.
Aluminum Transformers prices were up by 0.55% from CNY 9,100 per MT to CNY 9,150 per MT over the week.
The E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum Radiators prices were up by 0.53% each.
Zorba 90% NF prices ended the week at CNY 9,750 per MT, compared with CNY 9,700 per MT at the start of the week. Also, Aluminum ingots prices were up by 0.5% week-on-week.
The least increase in prices was seen in UBC, whose prices were up by 0.41% during the week ended May 22, 2025. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of the commodity:

The Aluminum utensil scrap prices were down week-on-week, recording a fall to INR 228,000 per Ton, compared with the previous week’s price of INR 229,000 per Ton on the ScrapMonster Index.
The Aluminum ingots prices also recorded week-on-week decline of INR 1,000 per Ton during the previous week. The weekly price chart of Aluminum ingots scrap is provided below:

The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,459.00 per tonne as of May 22, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal decline to $2,445.50 when compared with $2,460.50 per tonne a day before.
The LME Aluminum stocks declined modestly over the previous day to close at 386,900 tonnes as of May 22, 2025, as compared with 388,900 tonnes a day before.
