Aluminum Scrap Prices: Weekly Market Report- August 29, 2025

The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal decline to $2,615.00 when compared with $2,618.00 per tonne a day before.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly trend in aluminium scrap prices across worldwide aluminum scrap metal markets for the period from August 22 to August 28, 2025 on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
North America Prices
The regional aluminum scrap prices mostly remained unchanged over the prior week. Only E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded increase.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices witnessed a marginal increase of 0.86%. The prices of the commodity edged higher from $1.16 per Lb at the start of the week to $1.17 per Lb by the end of the week.
The graph provided below depicts the weekly price movement in E.C. Aluminum Wire:
6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, and 3003 Scrap prices witnessed no change from the prior week.
There was no variation in prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Radiators/Fe.
Also, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels and Mixed Aluminum Turnings held steady on the Index during the week ended August 28, 2025.
No change in price was seen in MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF.
The regional scrap aluminum prices recorded no variation in prices, except for E.C. Aluminum Wire.
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded a jump from $1.16 per Lb to close the week at $1.17 per Lb. The commodity’s prices registered week-on-week increase by 0.86%.
The prices of all other scrap aluminum commodities in the region held steady.
Only E.C. Aluminum Wire witnessed increase in prices in the region during the week ended August 28, 2025.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices were up marginally by 0.86% during the course of the week. The prices of the commodity recorded increase from $1.16 to $1.17 per pound.
The prices of all other commodities were flat on the Index.
The scrap commodities that remained constant during the week included 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Radiators, Litho Sheets, Painted Siding, 1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels (Clean), 5052 Scrap, 6061 Extrusions, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, Breakage 50% Recovery, Chrome Wheels, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, MLC Clips, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC, and Zorba 90% NF.

The scrap aluminum prices in the region recorded no variation in prices, except for E.C. Aluminum Wire.
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded a jump from $1.16 per Lb to close the week at $1.17 per Lb. The commodity’s prices registered week-on-week increase by 0.86%.
The prices of all other scrap aluminum commodities in the region held steady.

All aluminum scrap commodities in the region reported increase in prices during the week ending August 28, 2025.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices increased the most, rising by 0.55% each. The prices of both the above commodities ended the week at CNY 18,300 per MT.
6063 Extrusions prices recorded a jump of 0.54%.
The Aluminum Transformers prices inched higher by 0.53% over the previous day’s prices.
E.C. Aluminum Wire and Aluminum Radiators prices were up by 0.51% each.
The prices of Zorba 90% NF and Aluminum ingots were up by 0.5% and 0.48% respectively.
The least increase in prices was seen in UBC, whose prices were up by 0.4% during the week ended August 28, 2025. The prices ended the week at CNY 12,700 per MT, when compared with CNY 12,650 per MT at the beginning of the week. The below chart depicts the weekly price variation in the prices of the commodity:
The Aluminum utensil scrap prices were up marginally by 0.83% during the week. The prices edged higher from INR 241,000 per Ton to INR 243,000 per Ton on the ScrapMonster Index. The weekly price chart of Aluminum utensil scrap is provided below:
The Aluminum ingots prices also recorded increase, with prices witnessing a week-on-week jump by INR 2,000 per Ton.
The prices of all aluminium scrap categories (Aluminum Cuttings, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC) witnessed no change during the week.
LME Aluminum Market Update
The closing price of LME Aluminum 3-Month contract stood at USD 2,610.00 per tonne as of August 28, 2025. The LME Aluminum Cash Settlement contract recorded marginal decline to $2,615.00 when compared with $2,618.00 per tonne a day before.
The LME Aluminum stocks edged lower modestly over the previous day to close at 481,150 tonnes as of August 28, 2025, as compared with 481,250 tonnes a day before.
