July 23, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Displayed Mixed Trend on the Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Chinese Copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. Stainless Steel scrap prices edged higher. In the meantime, Steel and Brass/Bronze scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 150 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by CNY 50 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were flat over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.

Cu Yokes scrap prices recorded no change.

Cu/Al Radiator and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.

Heater Cores prices were down by CNY 50 per MT as of Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change over the previous day’s price.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions declined by CNY 100 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 100 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 100 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices dropped by CNY 100 per MT each as of July 23, 2025.

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were down by CNY 50 per MT each from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of July 23, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat on the Index.

304 SS Solid prices held steady over the previous day’s prices.

The price of 304 SS Turning recorded no change on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices jumped by CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices also were up by CNY 50 per MT as of July 23, 2025.

Shred SS prices recorded no variation over the previous day’s price.        

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no change on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of July 23, 2025.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices also held steady on the Index.
