As part of the strategy, Ilim will launch a new KLB Mill with an annual capacity of 600 thousand tons of kraftliner in Ust-Ilimsk during the current year.

Ilim Group Entered Into Strategic Agreements with Chinese Firms

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Ilim Group announced that it has signed two partnership agreements with China-based Shanghai High Hope Pulp and Paper. The third parties to these agreements are Hengan Group and Mudanjiang Heng Feng Paper. It must be noted Shanghai High Hope Pulp and Paper Corporation has been a partner of Ilim for more than a decade, with production volumes in excess of 1 million tons.

According to company press release, the new agreements signed with the long-standing partners will boost deliveries, optimize its production process and product export to the Chinese market. Furthermore, the partnerships will lead to significant improvement in customer service.

As part of the strategy, Ilim will launch a new KLB Mill with an annual capacity of 600 thousand tons of kraftliner in Ust-Ilimsk during the current year. The Group has been consistently expanding its presence in several regions across China, which it considers as a strategically important market for the company.

Ilim Group aims to boost its exports to Chinese markets to up to 2.4 million tons. This compares with record high exports of 1.66 million tons in 2020. The expansion of collaboration with Chinese companies has been an integral part of Ilim’s strategy.
