The hot rolled coil steel producers of Mexico stated to the economy minister the imposition of antidumping of 102.9 percent of the imports from three countries stated the Cancero Trade Association
MEXICO CITY (Scrap Monster): Followed by the requests from the domestic steel producers of Mexico, the ministry has declared an open investigation of the dumping of steel hot rolled coil from China, France as well as from Germany.
According to the association Cancero, the petitioners of the request applied to the ministry are Ternium and Altos Hornos de Mexico, requested 27.2 percent duty on the hot rolled coils from Germany, 14.4 percent of duty on the imports from France, and 102.9 percent duty on the hot rolled coils from China.
The trade group in a statement said that, from an investigation conducted in the year 2013 it is clear that, the imports from the above mentioned countries, increased 686 percent, which affected the domestic producers of iron ore directly.
Bulk volumes of hot rolled coil from these countries entered into Mexico with prices lower to the domestic price of hot rolled coil, so this phenomenon is to be considered as dumping. And this has adversely affected the domestic steel production and the economy of the company.
