The Japanese Ministry of Finance statistics indicate that the country's exports of Hot Rolled Coils (HRC) increased marginally during the month of May this year.
TOKYO (Scrap Monster): According to statistics released by the Japanese Ministry of Finance (MoF), the country’s exports of Hot Rolled Coils (HRC) dropped marginally during the month of May this year.
MoF data indicates that HRC exports by the country totaled around 1.11 million tons during the month. This is slightly lesser by 0.3% when compared with the exports during the previous month. The exports during April this year had totaled 1.10 million tons.
The HRC export prices during May 2015 averaged at $427.50 per ton FOB. The average prices fell by 5.5% over the previous month. The HRC export prices had averaged at $452.38 during April this year.
The largest export destination of Japanese HRC was South Korea. The exports to South Korea totaled 157,259 tons, 9.2% lower when compared with the previous month. The exports of Japanese HRC to South Korea had totaled 173,193 tons during the month of Apr ‘15. The second largest importer of Japanese HRC was China. The exports to China totaled 75,584 tons. The exports to China were up by 5.40% over the previous month.
