As per schedule, tissue manufacturing at the mill site will come to an end by mid-May this year.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Georgia-Pacific announced plans to close its Green Bay Day Street facility over a period of next eighteen months. The closure will not affect the company’s other existing operations in Green Bay.
According to company press release, the decision to shut down the mill does not reflect the hard work put in by the mill employees over the previous several years in serving the customers. The employees have done an admirable job in delivering safe and productive operations of the line.
As per schedule, tissue manufacturing at the mill site will come to an end by mid-May this year. Some other parts of the mill will shut down in September 2022. Meantime, the Day Street mill will continue to produce napkins until the fall of 2023. The company’s primary focus will be to ensure continued safe operation of the mill in the coming weeks and months and provide necessary support to its employees during the transition.
The decision is expected to impact 190 workers at the mill. However, interested employees will be offered a chance to apply for open roles at other Georgia-Pacific facilities in Green Bay, including the Broadway mill, where the recent investment is forecast to create around 100 new jobs.
