FPAC Foresees Unlimited Potentials of Forest Sector In Boosting Economy

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) has highlighted the potentials of forest sector in ensuring economic recovery and environmental protection. The views were expressed during the Association’s appearance before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Natural Resources. It called for increased cooperation between government and forest sector workers and communities.

According to FPAC, the government should take necessary steps to advance over 140 shovel ready projects worth over $1.5 billion. This could boost the prospects of Canadian forest sector in the global market, create new job opportunities and reduce the country’s carbon footprint. The Association also highlighted several ideas to secure forest sector jobs over a longer period of time.
