E-Waste Recycler to Build New Facility in the Port of Savannah

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Igneo Technologies announced investment of $85 million towards opening of its first U.S. electronics recycling facility. The proposed facility, to be located at SeaPoint Industrial Terminal Complex in the Port of Savannah, will generate around 150 jobs in Chatham County when it becomes fully operational. The announcement was made by Governor Brian P. Kemp.

The proposed new facility will offer a sustainable solution to recycle electronic waste. The reusable metal components extracted from the electronic waste in the form of concentrate of copper and precious metals will be fed to metal smelting companies across the world. The proximity to the state’s ports network will boost shipments to customers across the world, the company press release said.

Danish Mir, CEO, Igneo said that the company is excited to launch its cutting-edge electronics recycling facility in the State of Georgia. The dynamic business environment, skilful workforce and the ease in access to global trading routes have made the Savannah area the preferred location for the facility, he said. It is looking forward to create a lasting positive impact for the environment, he added.
