EPRC Paper Recycling Award Winners Honored

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The European Paper Recycling Council (EPRC) honoured winners of the 7^th edition of the European Paper Recycling Awards. The award distribution ceremony was held yesterday in the European Parliament in Brussels.

The winner of the “Innovative Technologies and R&D” category of award was the German company Repulping Technology GmbH & Co. KG. The company was declared winner for its innovative cavitation pulper machine, which allows for 100% recovery of fibres with a 50% better energy efficiency when matched with other technologies.

The second category of award “Information and Education” was won by Pro Carton for TICCIT (Trees Into Cartons, Cartons Into Trees)-its pan-European education program that primarily targets children aged between 8 and 11 years. This unique educational program has been highly successful in creating awareness among children on the importance of paper recycling.

The award-winners are selected by an eminent panel of jury members from a pool of game-changing projects submitted by various companies. It rewards European projects, initiatives and campaigns that contribute to drastic changes in the way paper is recycled in Europe and help the European region to achieve its ambitious goal of 74% paper recycling rate by the end of the current year.
