The demonstrators expressed their grave concerns regarding the plant's unknown effects on the environment and human health. It is impossible to determine if the emissions are carcinogenic or benign. The locals voiced their worries, claiming that the plant might increase health risks and bring pollution. They discussed the potential for the plant's operations to result in fires, poisonous leaks, and long-term harm to the quality of the air and water.

W.R. Grace pointed out that the pilot plant will only run on a small scale and is primarily intended to test new plastics recycling techniques. It further said that the plant will not burn or incinerate any plastics. The business also reaffirmed its dedication to carrying on with its operations in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
