Egypt’s Second Operating Gold Mine to be Developed by Aton Resources

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Aton Resources- the Egypt-based gold exploration and development company announced plans to develop the country’s second operating gold mine at Hamama. The announcement to this effect was made by Mark Campbell, President and CEO while outlining the company’s plan for 2021.

According to him, the Egyptian minerals sector is currently showing tangible signs of development. In addition to Rodruin and Hamama, the AbuMarawat Concession is also found to contain several exciting gold exploration targets. The company has already developed an ambitious exploration drilling and development program covering all the mine locations.

The company plans to bring in a man portable diamond drill rig at Hamama, which will boost drilling additional oxide resource potential at Hamama East. In addition, an RC rig is also planned towards further resource delineation drilling at Hamama West and drill testing some of its highly prospective exploration targets. However, the travel restrictions may likely delay bringing in equipment and personnel to Egypt. Also, the health concerns on account of subsequent waves of the pandemic may impact the timings of the proposed development plan, Campbell noted.

Campbell appreciated the dedication of its employees in helping the company navigate through the unprecedented challenges presented to it in 2020.
