DS Smith E-Commerce Packaging Replaces Plastics

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): London, UK-based leading international packaging company DS Smith has designed an e-commerce packaging solution for Orbitvu- the international technology company.

The new solution replaces plastic and non-recyclable materials with corrugated products. It guarantees safe transport of fragile devices, while meeting highest sustainability standards. The packaging solution is plastic-free, made from recycled materials and 100% recyclable. DS Smith noted that it has successfully eliminated 190 square metre of plastic needed for the previously used packaging. The new packaging comprises of several elements that ensure safety to the individual parts of the product.

Moreover, the new solution has resulted in reduction of packaging cost by at least 20%. The unique design helps Orbitvu to fit more number of devices in one delivery, thus lowering overall carbon dioxide emissions.

Artur Popczyk, Director-Customer Service Centers at DS Smith noted that the company aims to help customers become circular ready through its innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. The collaboration with Orbitvu has helped it to deliver a solution that is much better optimized for supply chain.

DS Smith targets to offer all of its customers with 100% recyclable packaging over the next two years. Also, it targets to have all its packaging to be recycled or reused by 2030.
