DS Smith Committed to Impart Recycling Education to School Children

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading international packaging company DS Smith announced significant progress in its journey to circular economy by engaging and educating people and communities.

As part of DS Smith’s school engagement programme, the company’s Recycling Division in Serbia organized environmental day celebrations, which saw participation of over 150 school children from Aca Milosavljevic School in Belgrade. In the event held on 10^th September, 2021, the school children were taught about the journey of recycled paper. It demonstrated how children could start making difference to the environment, by contributing to the circular economy.

Dejan Trifunovic, Director of Legal and General Affairs, DS Smith said that the students were fully engaged with recycling and sustainability. They were buzzing with ideas of how to make improvements in waste management at school and home. He appreciated the next generation for their proactive participation in the programme.

The company, through its Now and Next Strategy, aims to engage with 5 million young people by 2030. The partnership with Ellen MacArthur Foundation is expected to play a key role in helping the company achieve the goal.
