Danzer Completed Sale of Bradford Hardwood Lumber Sawmill

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Danzer announced that it has closed the sale of its hardwood lumber sawmill in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The facility has been offering high quality lumber to customers across the world, since its opening in 1988.

The facility was sold to a joint venture between hardwood producer Rossi Group and timberland investment firm Lyme Timber Company. According to the company, the sale has secured nearly 85 existing jobs at the facility. In addition, the new owners of the mill plan to add almost 20 new jobs.

Hans-Joachim Danzer, CEO of Danzer noted that the company has made consistent investment in cutting-edge technologies at the mill facility over the years. The acquisition of the facility by the Lyme/Rossi group is expected to deliver significant benefits to the skilled and dedicated employees at the Bradford plant as well as the local community.

Dan W. Sullivan, who has served as Danzer North America’s Chief Financial Officer since 2010, will be the company’s new President. Also, Greg Lottes, President of Danzer Lumber North America and Vice Chairman on the Board of Danzer’s North American Holding company, will continue to lead Danzer’s North American Lumber activities. It must be noted that Danzer operates a lumber drying facility in Shade Gap, Pennsylvania. The facility dries most of the main North American green lumber.
