September 12, 2025: North American Aluminum Scrap Prices Jumped on the Index

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery remained flat over the previous day.
By TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices remained flat on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, September 12, 2025. Aluminum scrap prices edged higher, while Stainless Steel scrap prices saw no change on the Index. Steel, Brass and Bronze scrap also reported no variation in prices over the previous day.
Copper Scrap Prices
The price of Alternator scrap remained flat over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing held steady. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also flat when compared with the prior day’s prices. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright remained stable.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery remained flat over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were unchanged. #3 Copper-Light copper prices witnessed no change from previous day’s level.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap witnessed no change from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap prices remained unchanged. Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices also reported no change from the previous day.
Also, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe held steady as of Friday, September 12, 2025.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices were flat on the Index.
The price of Romex Wire witnessed no change during the day.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights saw no change from previous day’s price levels.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
1100 Scrap prices were up by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap also were up by $0.01 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also edged higher by $0.01 pwe Lb.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions increased by $0.01 per Lb over the day.
Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions were up by $0.02 per Lb and $0.01 per Lb respectively when compared with the previous day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained flat. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices held steady. Aluminum Transformers prices remained unchanged as of September 12, 2025.
Breakage 50% Recovery and Chrome Wheels inched up by $0.01 per Lb each on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices were up by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.
Litho Sheets and MLC Clips witnessed a jump of $0.01 per Lb from previous day’s levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices also increased by $0.01 per Lb.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC saw an increase of $0.01 per Lb each over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF also inched higher by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS also witnessed no change as of September 12, 2025.
HMS 80/20 prices held steady on the Index.
Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.
304 SS Solid prices too remained flat over the previous day.
304 SS Turning witnessed no change in prices as of Friday, September 12, 2025.
309 SS and 310 SS prices saw no change in price on a daily basis.
330 SS prices were flat from the prior day.
In the meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too remained unchanged on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region remained totally flat on the Index.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices reported no change in prices as of Friday, September 12, 2025.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day price levels.
Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices also remained flat on the Index.
