March 6, 2025-North American Scrap Metal Prices Exhibited Mixed Trend on the Index

Copper Transformer Scrap remained unchanged.
By TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap metal prices exhibited mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Thursday, March 6, 2025. Brass/Bronze and Steel scrap prices recorded no variation. Stainless Steel scrap prices inched higher on the Index. Copper scrap prices registered a marginal decline, whereas Aluminum scrap prices edged higher on the Index.
Alternator prices held steady on the Index.
The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing declined by $0.01 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.01 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged lower by $ 0.01 per Lb.
The #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices witnessed no change over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were unchanged on the Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices inched lower by $0.01 per Lb.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap were flat on the Index.
Copper Transformer Scrap remained unchanged.
Cu Yokes prices reported no change over the previous day.
Cu/Al Radiator Ends and Cu/Al Radiators remained stable as of March 6, 2025.
Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, and Heater Cores prices held steady over the day.
Romex Wire prices also remained flat on the Index.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights reported no change from the previous day's price levels.
1100 Scrap prices were up by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap also were up by $0.01 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also edged higher by $0.01 per Lb each.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions witnessed an increase of $0.01 per Lb over the day.
Also, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each when compared with the prior day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained unchanged over the day. Aluminum Radiators prices were flat on the Index. Aluminum Radiators/Fe and Aluminum Transformers prices held steady. Breakage 50% Recovery prices were up marginally by $0.01 per Lb as of Thursday, March 6, 2025.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices recorded a jump of $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, and MLC Clips inched higher by $0.01 per Lb from the previous day’s price levels.
The prices of Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast and UBC reported an increase of $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding, and Zorba 90% NF prices also increased by $0.01 per Lb.
#1 Bundle prices recorded no change.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS reported no change as of March 6, 2025.
HMS 80/20 prices held steady on the Index.
Sheet Metal and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.
Shredded Auto Scrap prices were flat on the Index.
201 SS and 301 SS prices increased by $0.01 per Lb each.
304 SS Solid prices also were up by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
304 SS Turning witnessed a jump of $0.01 per Lb as of Thursday, March 6, 2025.
309 SS and 310 SS prices recorded increase by $0.01 per Lb and $0.02 per Lb respectively from the previous day.
330 SS prices were up by $0.03 per Lb from the prior day.
In the meantime, 316 SS Solid prices also inched higher by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region witnessed no change on the Index.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap, and Brass Radiator scrap prices were unchanged as of Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day's price levels.
Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices also were flat on the Index.
