TORONTO (Scrap Monster): As of Wednesday, May 13, 2026, North American scrap metal prices, including Copper, Aluminum and Brass/Bronze, recorded broad gains on the ScrapMonster Price Index. In the meantime, Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper: Across-the-board jump
Aluminum: Sharp overall gain
Brass/Bronze: Widespread increase
Stainless Steel: Flat trend
Steel: Witnessed no change
The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged from the previous day.
The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Bare Bright, and #3 Copper- Light Copper increased by $0.05 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery were up by $0.01 per Lb each on the Index.
