By MONTREAL (Scrap Monster): North American scrap metal prices displayed a mixed trend on the Scrap Monster Price Index on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Copper and brass/bronze scrap prices moved higher, while aluminum, steel, and stainless steel scrap prices held steady.
Copper: Broad-based jump on the Index
Aluminum: Recorded no change
Brass/Bronze: Edged higher
Stainless Steel: Saw no variation
Steel: Recorded a slight decline
Copper Scrap Prices
Copper scrap was the strongest segment of the North American scrap market on August 4, 2026. Several key copper grades rose by $0.11 per lb on the Index.
