MONTREAL (Scrap Monster): The prices of a few scrap categories in the North American region recorded a decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Copper and Aluminum scrap prices registered a marginal decline. Meanwhile, Steel, Brass/Bronze, and Stainless Steel scrap prices witnessed no change on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
Alternator prices held steady on the Index.
The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing declined by $0.02 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.02 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright edged lower by $ 0.02 per Lb.
The #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices witnessed no variation over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were also flat on the Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices inched lower by $0.02 per Lb.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap, Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators, Cu/Al Radiators/Fe, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Romex Wire, Heater Cores, Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights reported no change from the previous day's price levels.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
1100 Scrap, 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels, 6063 Extrusions/Fe, 6063 Extrusions, 5052 Scrap, and 6061 Extrusions prices inched down by $0.01/lb each vs. the prior day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators, Al/Cu Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers, and Breakage 50% Recovery prices remained unchanged as of Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices were down by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, MLC Clips, Mixed Aluminum Turnings, Old Cast, Old Sheet, Painted Siding, Zorba 90% NF, and UBC prices dropped by $0.01 per Lb.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 Bundle prices recorded no change on the Index.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS were unchanged from the previous day’s prices.
Also, HMS 80/20, Sheet Metal, Structural Steel, and Shredded Auto Scrap prices reported no variation on the Index.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.
304 SS Solid prices remained flat over the previous day.
304 SS Turning, 309 SS, 310 SS, 330 SS, and 316 SS Solid prices held steady on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region witnessed no change.
70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap, and Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat on the Index.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day's price levels.
Red Brass, Red Borings, and Yellow Brass prices held steady on the Index.
