TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper scrap prices saw a mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, July 3, 2026. Aluminum scrap prices edged lower, while Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices increased on the Index. Steel and Stainless Steel scrap reported no variation in prices over the previous day.
The price of Alternator scrap remained flat over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing edged higher by $0.07 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.07 per Lb when compared with the prior day’s prices. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright also reported a jump of $0.07 per Lb on the Index.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices also were up by $0.02 per Lb. #3 Copper-Light copper prices witnessed a jump of $0.07 per Lb from the previous day’s level.
The prices of Copper Radiator scrap witnessed a jump of $0.03 per Lb from the previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap prices remained unchanged. Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices also reported no change from the previous day.
Also, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe held steady as of Friday, July 3, 2026.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Romex Wire prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on the Index.
The price of Heater Cores increased by $0.01 per Lb during the day.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights saw no change from previous day’s price levels.
1100 Scrap prices were down by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap also went lower by $0.01 per Lb on the Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also dropped by $0.01 per Lb.
The prices of 6063 Extrusions decreased by $0.01 per Lb over the day.
Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions were down by $0.01 per Lb each when compared with the previous day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained flat. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices were down by $0.01 per Lb each. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices also were flat as of July 3, 2026.
Chrome Wheels, Litho Sheets, Old Cast, Old Sheet, Painted Siding, UBC and Zorba 90% NF prices were down by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices saw a dip of $0.02 per Lb from previous day’s levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices held steady on the Index.
#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.
The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS also witnessed no change as of July 3, 2026.
HMS 80/20 prices held steady on the Index.
Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap, and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.
201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.
304 SS Solid prices also remained flat over the previous day.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day's price levels.
Red Brass, Red Borings, and Yellow Brass prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb each on the Index.
Copper and brass/bronze scrap prices increased, with key copper grades rising by $0.07/lb and most brass grades gaining $0.02/lb.
