BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices posted a mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, October 30, 2026. Copper scrap slipped slightly, aluminum scrap moved higher across all categories, brass/bronze declined, while steel and stainless steel scrap remained unchanged.
- Copper: Prices declined across select grades by CNY 50–450/MT; others remained steady.
- Aluminum: Prices increased across all reported grades by CNY 100–200/MT.
- Steel: #1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap prices remained unchanged.
- Stainless Steel: All reported grades held steady.
- Brass/Bronze: Red and Yellow Brass fell CNY 100/MT; Brass Radiators were unchanged.
Copper Scrap Prices
Copper scrap prices on the ScrapMonster China Copper Scrap Price Index recorded a slight decline across select grades.
- #1 Copper Bare Bright, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing fell CNY 450 per MT.
- #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery declined CNY 200 per MT.
- #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery and Cu/Al Radiators dropped CNY 50 per MT.
- Heater Cores declined CNY 100 per MT.
- Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units recorded no change.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
Aluminum scrap prices on the ScrapMonster China Aluminum Scrap Price Index moved higher across various categories.
- 6063 Aluminum Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots increased CNY 200 per metric ton each.
- Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers prices saw a jump of CNY 100 per metric ton each on the Index.
- E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast and Old Sheet each gained CNY 200 per metric ton.
- Used Beverage Cans (UBC) and Zorba 90% INF recorded an increase of CNY 100 per MT each from the previous day's prices.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady over the previous day's levels.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Prices
On the ScrapMonster China Stainless Steel Scrap Price Index, 201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, and 309 SS saw no change over the previous day.
310 SS, 316 SS Solid, and Shred SS also held steady.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
Brass/bronze scrap prices in China recorded a modest decline over the day on the ScrapMonster China Brass/Bronze Scrap Price Index.
Brass Radiator prices were unchanged on the Index.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass each fell CNY 100 per MT.
