Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Show Mixed Trends on the Index– March 30, 2026

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed performance on the ScrapMonster Price Index  as of Monday, March 30, 2026.

• Copper: Modest surge
• Aluminum:  Across-the-board increase
• Brass/Bronze: No variation
• Stainless Steel: Broad-based decline
• Steel: Held steady

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed a modest jump in prices of CNY 50 per MT each over the previous day.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 50 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were unchanged on the Index.

The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded no variation over the previous day.

Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes prices held steady on the Index.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap prices were flat on the Index.

Heater Cores prices recorded no change as of Monday, March 30, 2026.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were unchanged upon comparison with the prior day’s prices.

Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Aluminum Extrusions recorded a day-on-day increase of CNY 800 per metric ton. 

Aluminum Ingot prices also advanced by CNY 800 per metric ton compared to the previous trading session.

Aluminum Radiator and Aluminum Transformer prices edged higher by CNY 400 per MT each on the index.

E.C. Aluminum wire saw an upward movement, gaining CNY 800 per metric ton as of March 30, 2026.

In the scrap aluminum segment:

-Old cast aluminum prices increased by CNY 800 per metric ton.

-Old sheet aluminum prices also rose by CNY 800 per metric ton.

Also,  

-Used Beverage Cans (UBC) prices showed an increase of CNY 50 per MT from the previous day.

-Zorba 90% INF grade prices saw a jump of CNY 400 per MT.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of March 30, 2026.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

• 201 SS: Witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT
• 304 SS Solid: Recorded a dip of CNY 50 per MT
• 304 SS Turning: Edged lower by CNY 50 per MT
• 309 SS: Down by CNY 100 per MT

The price of 310 SS witnessed a dip of CNY 150 per MT on a daily basis.

316 SS Solid prices recorded a fall of CNY 100 per MT on the Index.

Also, Shred SS scrap prices were down by CNY 50 per MT as of Monday, March 30, 2026

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no change as of March 30, 2026.

• Brass Radiator: Flat trend
• Red Brass: Held steady
• Yellow Brass: Recorded no variation in prices
