Chinese Scrap Metal Prices See Mixed Trend on the Index– May 25, 2026

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices witnessed mixed movements on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Monday, May 25, 2026.

• Copper: Slight jump in prices

• Aluminum: Saw widespread decline

• Brass/Bronze: Edged higher

• Stainless Steel: Witnessed increase

• Steel: Flat trend

Copper, brass/bronze and stainless steel scrap prices recorded increase over the previous day. In contrast, Aluminum scrap prices dropped on the Index. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices remained flat.

Copper Scrap Prices

The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed a jump in prices of CNY 750 per MT each over the previous day.

The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also edged higher by CNY 750 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were up by CNY 350 per MT. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded an increase of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.

Cu Yokes and Cu/Al Radiator prices were up slightly by CNY 50 per MT and CNY 100 per MT, respectively, upon comparison with the prior day.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices recorded a jump of CNY 50 per MT as of Monday, May 25, 2026.

Heater Cores prices saw an increase of CNY 300 per MT on the Index.

In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices remained flat on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots prices also dropped by CNY 50 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers were unchanged on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged lower by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each as of May 25, 2026.

UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices saw no variation from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of May 25, 2026.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

• 201 SS: Reported no variation

• 304 SS Solid: Held steady

• 304 SS Turning: Flat trend

• 309 SS: Edged higher by CNY 50 per MT

310 SS prices recorded a slight jump of CNY 50 per MT as of Monday, May 25, 2026.

316 SS Solid prices were up by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day’s prices.

Shred SS prices saw no change on the Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded jump as of May 25, 2026.

• Brass Radiator: Edged higher by CNY 50 per MT

• Red Brass: Saw a jump of CNY 100 per MT over the previous day

• Yellow Brass: Witnessed an increase of CNY 100 per MT
