BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices recorded modest gains on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Copper, aluminum, and brass/bronze scrap prices moved higher compared with the previous day, while steel and stainless steel scrap prices held steady.
- Copper, aluminum, and brass/bronze scrap prices rose on the ScrapMonster China Price Index for October 28, 2026.
- Steel and stainless steel scrap prices were unchanged from the previous trading day.
- Copper posted the broadest gains, led by CNY 750/MT increases in Bare Bright and Wire and Tubing grades.
- Aluminum reversed the previous day’s declining trend with CNY 50/MT gains across several grades.
- Brass/bronze scrap rose on higher Brass Radiator, Red Brass, and Yellow Brass prices.
Copper Scrap Prices
Copper scrap prices saw broad-based gains on the ScrapMonster China Copper Scrap Price Index.
#1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing both surged by CNY 750 per MT compared with the previous day. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also rose by CNY 750 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire with 85% recovery climbed CNY 350 per MT, while #2 Insulated Copper Wire (50% recovery) increased by CNY 150 per MT.
Copper Transformer scrap and Cu Yokes each reported a CNY 50 per MT increase. Cu/Al Radiator scrap jumped CNY 150 per MT, while Harness Wire (35% recovery) inched up CNY 50 per MT.
Heater Cores gained CNY 300 per MT, while Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units each recorded a slight increase of CNY 50 per MT.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots each rose CNY 50 per MT over the previous day on the ScrapMonster China Aluminum Scrap Price Index.
Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers were unchanged. E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet prices each rose CNY 50 per MT.
UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices held steady compared with the previous day's price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady over the previous day's levels.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Prices
On the ScrapMonster China Stainless Steel Scrap Price Index, 201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, and 309 SS saw no change over the previous day.
310 SS, 316 SS Solid, and Shred SS also held steady.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
Brass/bronze scrap prices in China recorded a modest increase over the day on the ScrapMonster China Brass/Bronze Scrap Price Index.
Brass Radiator increased by CNY 100 per MT. Red Brass and Yellow Brass each edged higher by CNY 150 per MT.
