Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Mixed as Copper, Aluminum Rise, Stainless Steel Slips on the Index– July 29, 2026

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded a mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

• Copper: Slight increase in prices

• Aluminum: Across-the-board jump

• Brass/Bronze: Held steady

• Stainless Steel: Modest declines

• Steel: Stable/unchanged

Copper and aluminum scrap prices edged higher, and stainless steel declined, compared to the previous day, while brass/bronze and steel scrap prices remained steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

Copper scrap prices saw slight gains on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

#1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing both increased by CNY 50 per MT compared to the previous day. Also, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing edged higher by CNY 50 per MT.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire with 85% recovery and #2 Insulated Copper Wire (50% recovery) recorded no variation on the Index.

Copper Transformer scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiator scrap, and Harness Wire (35% recovery) held steady over the previous day.

Also, Heater Cores, Scrap Electric Motors, and Sealed Units prices recorded no change on the Index.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots witnessed a jump of CNY 200 per MT each in prices over the previous day.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers were up by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices saw a jump of CNY 200 per MT on the Index.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices were up by CNY 200 per MT as of July 29, 2026.

UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices increased by CNY 100 per MT each from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of July 29, 2026.

Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

• 201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning, Shredd SS: Flat trend

• 310 SS prices inched lower by CNY 100 per MT each as of Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
• 309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices saw a decline of CNY 50 per MT each over the previous day’s prices.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no change as of July 29, 2026.

• Brass Radiator, Red Brass, Yellow Brass: Held steady over the previous day’s prices
