BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices reported a mixed trend on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Copper and Stainless Steel scrap prices were down from the previous day, while aluminum scrap prices edged higher. Meanwhile, Brass/Bronze, and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each declined by CNY 50 per MT.
Meanwhile, prices for #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery remained unchanged from the previous day. Copper Transformer, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiators, Harness Wire 35% Recovery, Heater Cores, Scrap Electric Motors, and Sealed Units also traded flat on the ScrapMonster Price Index on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
Prices of 6063 Extrusions, Aluminum Ingots, E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, and Old Sheet increased by CNY 150 per MT each on July 8, 2026.
Meanwhile, Aluminum Radiators, Aluminum Transformers, UBC, and Zorba 90% INF recorded modest gains of CNY 50 per MT each compared with the previous day.
Steel Scrap Prices
Prices of #1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap remained unchanged on the ScrapMonster Price Index on July 8, 2026.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices recorded no change on the Index.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also were flat on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices recorded a decline of CNY 100 per MT as of July 8, 2026.
Shred SS prices held steady over the previous day.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded no variation from the previous day.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
On the Index, the price of Yellow Brass and Red Brass held steady.
